Education:
Amy Hemann holds a Master of Social Work degree from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, which she earned in August 2005. Prior to that, she completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Women’s Studies from the same institution in August 2000. This educational foundation has equipped her with a deep understanding of human behavior, mental processes, and the social factors that influence individuals’ lives.

Professional Experience:
Amy has accumulated extensive experience throughout her career, working in various settings and roles within the field of mental health. She is currently an Outpatient Therapist at Southern Illinois Associates LLC, where she has been serving since May 2015. In this role, Amy conducts both group and individual therapy sessions, implements treatment and recovery plans, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, and conducts depression and anxiety screenings.

Before her current position, Amy worked as a Primary Therapist at a Hospital from July 2011 to March 2014. She provided group and individual therapy, contributed to treatment and recovery planning, collaborated with interdisciplinary teams, and conducted depression and anxiety screenings. Her work at Community Counseling Center in Alton, Illinois, included serving as a Senior Services Specialist from September 2008 to July 2011, where she provided in-home counseling for older adults and their caregivers and completed mental status testing and depression screenings.

Amy’s dedication to supporting individuals with co-occurring disorders led her to work as a Therapist at Wellspring Resources in Jerseyville, Illinois, from March 2014 to 2015. During this time, she provided individual and group therapy, conducted intake assessments, and contributed to recovery planning. Additionally, she has experience as a Substance Abuse Counselor, Social Services Director, Case Manager, and Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Specialist, showcasing her versatility and wide-ranging expertise.
