Diana Jarman, LCSW

 

Diana Jarman is a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with extensive experience in treating individuals with psychiatric disorders. With a strong educational background and a wealth of professional experience, Diana is skilled in providing therapy and support to her patients.

Diana earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in August 2002, graduating with an impressive GPA of 3.909. Prior to that, she completed her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree from the same institution in May 2001.

With over two decades of experience in the field, Diana has worked with various mental health organizations and facilities, honing her skills in diagnosing and treating psychiatric disorders. Since 2016, she has been serving at Southern Illinois Associates, LLC, primarily focusing on adults dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, bipolar disorder, and co-occurring substance abuse. In this role, Diana has conducted comprehensive mental health assessments, formulated treatment plans, and provided individual therapy. She has also received specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, a powerful technique used to address trauma.

During her tenure at Cenerstone/Wellspring Resources from 2010 to 2016, Diana gained valuable experience working with a diverse range of patients. She provided therapy and support to individuals with various mental health conditions, utilizing both group and individual therapy modalities. Additionally, she was responsible for conducting brief assessments, creating treatment plans, and facilitating patient discharges.

Diana’s professional journey also includes her time at Gateway Regional Medical Center Kettler from 2009 to 2010, where she primarily worked with geriatric patients dealing with mental illness, including those with co-occurring substance abuse. 

From 2002 to 2009, Diana was associated with Behavioral Health Alternatives, where she served as a case manager and provided group and individual therapy to clients with dual diagnoses. Her expertise extended to facilitating specialized groups such as PTSD, self-esteem, survivors of suicide (open to the public), and grandparents raising grandchildren (open to the public).

Earlier in her career, Diana gained valuable experience at Alton Mental Health in the Forensics Unit, working with a male population. She completed both undergraduate and graduate practicums, assisting men who were deemed Unfit to Stand Trial (UST) or Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI), many of whom also had co-occurring substance abuse issues. Her responsibilities included conducting comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, facilitating classes, and assisting with discharge plans.
